Women’s Soccer Falls To Catawba; 1-0

Anderson, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer (9-3-4, 5-2-3 SAC) held off top-ranked South Atlantic Conference opponent Catawba (14-1-2, 8-0-2 SAC) for 66 minutes before giving up the game-winning goal to drop a 1-0 contest on Saturday night at Spero Financial Field.

"We're proud of the team for sticking to the game plan and getting a good result against a great opponent, said head coach Sarah Jacob. "We're looking forward to finishing the regular season strong on Wednesday as we build for the conference tournament."

On one of Catawba's 14 corner kicks, Kasey Hahn connected with Katie Beck. Beck was able to head the ball to the far post past outstretched senior keeper Jeanette Campbell.

For the evening, Campbell recorded six saves with the Indians outshooting the Trojans 23-0.

Anderson will host SAC foe Newberry on Wednesday to close out regular season play. Kick-off is slated for 5 pm.
