Trojans Score A Flurry Of Goals To End The Match To Win Over Coker; 3-0

ANDERSON, S.C. – After a scoreless 82 minutes of action, Anderson University women's soccer (7-2-4, 4-1-3 SAC) scored three unanswered goals in the final eight minutes to secure the South Atlantic Conference victory over Coker (4-4-2, 2-4 SAC) on Saturday evening at Spero Financial Field.

"We were glad to get three points tonight on senior night," said Sarah Jacobs. "We're thankful for the impact this class has had on the program both on off the field and look forward to finishing the season strong with their leadership."

Anderson had several good opportunities throughout the match, but stellar play between the post by Coker's keeper Sarah Swaim helped keep the match scoreless until the Black and Gold's flurry at the end. AU outshot the Cobras 19-5 with 12 shots coming on goal. Swaim finished the evening with nine total saves.

In the 82nd minute of play, freshman Carley Keuffer served a free kick inside of the 18 that was redirected to freshman Meggie Powell by freshman Catherine Nardella. Powell was able to punch the short shot past Swaim for the eventual game-winner.

The Trojans struck again in the 85th minute when junior Emma Deadwyler took a ball just outside the goal and put it past the Cobra's keeper to score her fifth goal of the season. Less than two minutes later, senior Haley Sanneman was able to kick it past the charging keeper to score her second goal of the season.

Senior keeper Jeanette Campbell was credited with two saves on the evening. Campbell ranks third in the league on total saves (55).

Anderson remains home to host SAC opponent Mars Hill on Tuesday. Kick-off is slated for 5 pm.
