Lady Trojans, Limestone Battle To Tie

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Limestone College and Anderson University played to 1-1 tie in a Conference Carolinas women's match Saturday afternoon at Saints Field. Anderson is now 6-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in Conference Carolinas, while Limestone is 4-6-3, 3-2-3. "We played well in the second half and the two overtimes," said Anderson head coach Jason Dowiak. "We pressed hard and had our chances. Kristi Wilkins had a shot in the second overtime that the keeper forced wide. Our defense was good again. Bethany Craig and Katelyn Conover both played great on defense." Jenna Mellon got the Lady Saints on the board in the 11th minute with a long shot off a throw-in by Annie Polhamus. Anderson's Virginia Cates scored the equalizer with 20 minutes left to play in the second half.
