Women’s Golf Prepares for Patsy Rendleman Memorial

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University women's golf team will end a month-long layoff by competing in the Patsy Rendleman Memorial, which will be hosted by Catawba at the Country Club of Salisbury (N.C.), Monday and Tuesday, on a par-72, 6,005-yard layout.

Joining Anderson in the 16-team field will be Barton, Belmont Abbey, the host Indians, Coker, Converse, Erskine, King, Lander, Lenoir-Rhyne, Lincoln Memorial, North Greenville, UNC-Pembroke, Pfeiffer, Tusculum and West Georgia.

The Trojans have been idle since finishing second behind Lincoln Memorial at the AU Invitational nearly four weeks ago, when freshman Makalyn Poole overcame a one-shot deficit following the opening round to win individual medalist honors. Senior Braiden Furtick shared seventh place at the two-day event, with sophomore Riley Lovorn finished 16th. Freshman Tiffany Elam shared the 23rd spot, alongside fellow freshman Blake Hodges, with Arista Setro sharing the 34th spot. Freshman Samantha Ellison claimed 39th and Garyt Hamilton finished 40th.

A year ago, Hamilton finished 43rd and paced the Trojans to a 15th-place finish, with Setro placing 75th.

The first round of the Memorial is slated to start Monday morning.
