McDowell Earns All-America Accolades From The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association

ATLANTA – Anderson University women's basketball junior Diamond McDowell earned All-America Honorable Mention accolades by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) on Friday morning.

Earlier this month, McDowell was named to the All-SAC First Team and just last week was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association second-team All-Southeast Region team.

The Asheboro, N.C. has scored in double-figures 20 times and 19 games with eight rebounds or more. McDowell averaged 16.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. She recorded 15 double-doubles on the season and has accumulated a total of 35 over her three-year career.

The 6-2 forward has scored a career 1,166 points and continue to move up the ranks in several Anderson's all-time list. McDowell ranks third (563) defensive rebounds, fourth (854) total rebounds, fifth (291) offensive rebounds and sixth (108) in blocked shots.

To end regular season play, McDowell scored a career high 40 points, ripped down 13 rebounds, recorded five steals and four assists in 30 minutes of action to help lead the Trojans to a win over Tusculum.
