Stafford and Sheridan Earn A Spot On The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women’s Basketball Team

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's basketball graduate Brittney Stafford and sophomore Ashlyn Sheridan earned CSC Academic All-District, released Wednesday morning.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Stafford made starts in all 31 games averaging 33.9 minutes per game. The native of New Braunfels, Texas averaged 13.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest. In the classroom, Stafford is working towards her MBA and holds a 3.55 GPA.

Sheridan started 29 of Anderson's 31 games. She averaged 11.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. The native of Knoxville, Tenn. carries a 3.83 GPA in Christian Studies.

Both Stafford and Sheridan's solid play throughout the season helped lead the team to a 22-9 overall record and a 15th overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
