Men’s Golf Tops Final Spring 2023 Bushnell/Golfweek DII Coaches Poll

NORMAN, Okla. – After finishing the fall with wins in all four tournaments and wrapping up the regular season with the program's first-ever South Atlantic Conference Championship, the Anderson men's golf team topped the final Bushnell/Golfweek DII Coaches Poll of the season.

The Trojans received 12 first-place votes and 396 points in the process, 15 more than Barry (three first-place votes). Lee, West Florida, and North Georgia rounded out the top five, while Oklahoma Christian, Grand Valley State (one first-place vote), Nova Southeastern, Georgia Southwestern, and Cal State-San Marcos completed the top 10.

Lincoln Memorial (12th) and Carson-Newman (20th) joined the Trojans from the South Atlantic Conference.

Behind South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year, Alejandro de Castro's three stroke victory and with Reece Coleman and Calahan Keever sharing the runner-up spot, AU claimed its first-ever SAC Championship, and with the title, the Trojans earned the league's automatic bid and secured their sixth appearance – and first appearance since 2008 – in the NCAA Tournament.

Joining the top-ranked Trojans in the Sunshine State, May 11-13, for the Southeast Region Championship will be North Georgia, Georgia Southwestern, Clayton State, Lincoln Memorial, Barton, Lander, Carson-Newman, Limestone and USC Aiken.
