Men’s Golf Maintains Grip on No. 1 National Ranking

NORMAN, Okla. – After taking over the top spot in the NCAA D II collegiate rankings late last October, the Anderson University Men's golf team has refused to surrender the No. 1 ranking, as the Trojans remain the nation's No. 1 team in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll, as released Friday morning.

The Trojans received 12 of 13 possible first-place votes – two more than earlier this month - and captured 324 points in the process.

Lee earned one first-place vote and moved up four spots to No. 2, with Barry, Oklahoma Christian, and West Florida rounded out the top five, while North Georgia, Grand Valley State, Nova Southeastern, Henderson State, and Georgia Southwestern completing the top 10.

Carson-Newman (T-15) and Lincoln Memorial (18th) joined the Trojans from the South Atlantic Conference.

AU, which has been tabbed as "under consideration" by the NCAA Championship Selection Committee, is scheduled to wrap up the regular season at the Tennessee River Rumble, Monday and Tuesday. The 54-hole tourney is slated to be hosted by Lincoln Memorial at the Wind River Golf Club in Lenoir City, Tenn.
