Men’s Golf Tabbed First in Latest NCAA Southeast Region Poll

ANDERSON, S.C. – With the NCAA South/Southeast Region Championships scheduled to get underway in almost exactly six weeks, the nationally top-ranked Anderson men's golf team is tabbed first in the second of three NCAA South Region Rankings, which were released late Friday afternoon.

The Trojans were ranked first in the nation in both the most recent latest Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll and in the latest Golfstat rankings.

The regional rankings are the official poll used by the NCAA in the championship selection process and are regularly released by the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee leading up to the NCAA Championship selections.

The nationally top-ranked men's squad tops 11 teams in the rankings by the NCAA Selection Committee. Joining the No. 1-ranked Trojans from the South Atlantic Conference in the NCAA regional rankings were Lincoln Memorial at No. 5, Carson-Newman at No. 6 and Limestone coming in at No. 9.

The NCAA Tournament selections are set for Friday, April 28.

Last year, the NCAA Southeast Region Men's Championship featured 10 teams and four individuals.

The 2023 Men's Southeast and South Regional Championships will be hosted May 11-13, by Nova Southeastern at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Fla., with the NCAA National Championships slated for May 22-26, in Warren, Ohio.

The No. 1-ranked trojans are coming off a disappointing seventh-place finish at Lincoln Memorial's Tennessee River Rumble, but have won an unprecedented six tournament titles this year, while finishing fourth at Georgia Southwestern's Hurricane Invitational late last month.

AU will be seeking its first-ever SAC Championship, April 16-18 in Hickory, N.C. and clinch an automatic berth in the regional championships.
