Men’s Golf Looks to Close Out Regular Season on Strong Note

ANDERSON, S.C. – Following a three-week layoff after notching its' sixth tournament title of the year, the No. 1-ranked Anderson University men's golf team is set to wrap up the regular season at Lincoln Memorial's 2023 State Farm Tennessee River Rumble, Monday and Tuesday in Lenoir City, Tennessee.

The 54-hole, two-day event will feature a par-73, 7,065-yard layout, with Monday featuring 36 holes, while the final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday.

The 20-team field is expected to include five of the top-25 teams in the nation, including the top-ranked Trojans and No. 2-ranked Lee University. In addition, No. 18 Lincoln Memorial, 30th-ranked Lander, Wingate, Erskine, King, North Greenville, Maryville, No. 15 Carson-Newman, Newberry, No. 13 Clayton State
Lincoln Memorial (B), 12th-ranked Missouri – St. Louis, No. 27 Limestone, Young Harris, No. 36 Coker, Lenoir-Rhyne, Belmont Abbey and North Georgia are expected to take part.

The Trojans will be making their seventh appearance in 10 years (the tournament was canceled in 2020), while posting their best finish by placing sixth at the conclusion of the 2016 season.

With Calahan Keever firing a final-round, even-par 72, the Trojans moved up two spots and closed out last year's regular season with a 16th-place finish. Keever finished up sharing 40th place a year ago, while Daniel Coker and Reece Coleman finished in a tie for 56th place. Parker MacDonald moved up 15 spots behind a final-round 1-over 73 and shared 82nd place.

Keever and Coleman are currently ranked second and third in the nation, respectively, with Keever owning a 70.44 adjusted stroke average and Coleman posting a 70.53 stroke average.

Keever tied for first at the season-opening North Georgia Intercollegiate and won last month's LMU Spring Kick-off, while not finishing lower than 13th this season. Coleman finished first at Georgia Southwestern's Hurricane Invitational and finished as runner-up at Columbus State's Cougar Invitational, while adding a pair of third-place finishes this year.

Freshman Alejandro de Castro is third on the team with a 72.52 unadjusted stroke average and owns four top-15 finishes.
