SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Anderson University women's golf team is in fourth place following first-round action at Converse College's Spring Invitational, hosted at the Carolina Country Club of Spartanburg.
Erskine leads the six-team field after carding a first-round 325, while the host Valkyries (326) one shot further back in second. Queens University of Charlotte (333) is third, while the Trojans fired an opening-round 352. Lenoir-Rhyne posted a 369 and Southern Wesleyan rounded out the field with an opening-round 455.
The Trojans' opening event of the spring slate saw senior Katie
Eskew fire an 89, while juniors Natalie Feder and Sarah Timms each
carded a first-round 86.
Sophomore Braiden Furtik posted a 91, while sophomore Garyt
Hamilton notched a 96.
Tee times for Tuesday's final round are set for 10 a.m.
