Women’s Golf Seventh at Hilton Head Lakes Invitational

BLUFFTON, S.C. - The Anderson University women's golf team is in seventh place following opening-round action on Monday at the Hilton Head Lakes Invitational, hosted by Pfeiffer at the par-72, 5,935 yard layout.

Limestone and Montevallo lead the 18-team field after carding an opening-round 317, while Wingate (318) is third. King (327) is fourth, with North Greenville (328) just behind the Tornado. Coker (333) leads AU (336) by three, while the Trojans are one stroke in front of Mount Olive (337) and two ahead of ninth-place Erskine (338). Lincoln Memorial rounded out the top-10 with a 340.

The Trojans' second event of the spring saw sophomore Braiden Furtick card a 9-over par 81 and shares 17th, while junior Natalie Feder fired a 10-over par 82 and is tied for 23rd. Junior Sarah Timms is four shots further back following a first-round 86 and is tied for 46th.

Senior Katie Eskew (87) and sophomore Garyt Hamilton (88) are tied for 51st and 54th, respectively.

The two-day event wraps up on Tuesday.
