BLUFFTON, S.C. - Paced by sophomore Braiden Furtick's two-day 23-over-par 167, the Anderson University women's golf team wrapped up the Hilton Head Lakes Invitational tied for 13th following final-round action on Tuesday at the par-72, 5,935 yard layout.
Limestone (632) and Wingate (632) finished tied for the top spot in the 18-team field, with the Saints earning the win on a playoff. Montevallo (640) slipped from a tie atop the leaderboard on Monday and finished third, while Coker (657) moved from sixth to fourth. Queens (659) slashed 29 strokes from its opening-round score and vaulted from 12th to fifth, with North Greenville (663) four strokes further back. King slipped from fourth to seventh with a two-day total 664, with Mount Olive (672), Erskine (674), Lincoln Memorial (676) and Barton (676) rounding out the top-10.
USC Beaufort (677) was 12th, with the Trojans (679) and Converse (679) tied for 13th.
King University sophomore Elizabeth Swallow earned individual medalist honors with an 8-over-par 152.
Furtick finished in a tie for 34th, with junior Natalie Feder (171) and senior Katie Eskew (171) sharing 45th. Junior Sarah Timms finished two shots further back with a 173 and finished in a tie for 51st. Sophomore Garyt Hamilton (174) rounded out the Trojan contingent.
The Trojans will get back in action on March 23-24 at Wingate's Pinehurst Challenge.
