Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Converse’s Spring Invitational

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Anderson University women's golf team improved by six strokes and finished fourth at Converse College's Spring Invitational, hosted at the Carolina Country Club of Spartanburg.

Erskine (325+327=652) led wire-to-wire in the two-day event, claiming first place by 17 shots over the host Valkyries (326+343=669). Queens University of Charlotte (333+339=672) placed third, while the Trojans (352-346=698) wrapped up the event in fourth. Converse B was fifth with a two-day total 726 and Lenoir-Rhyne (369+352=721) was sixth. Southern Wesleyan rounded out the field in seventh.

Juniors Natalie Feder (86-86=172) and Sarah Timms (86-85=174) led the Trojans, while senior Katie Eskew carded a two-day total 176. Sophomore Garyt Hamilton notched a 184 and sophomore Braiden Furtik posted a 186.

The Trojans return to action on March 10-11 at the Hilton Head Lakes Invitational, hosted by Pfeiffer.
