Women’s Golf Finishes 11th at Flagler’s Fall Slam

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - With junior Natalie Feder's 18-over-par two-day total 162 leading the way, the Anderson women's golf team finished 11th at the 11th Annual Flagler Fall Slam, hosted at the 6,062 yard, par-72 Marsh Creek Country Club.

With a 14-team field that included five nationally-ranked NCAA Division II teams, the Trojans remained in front of Tusculum, Catawba and Eckerd, but were unable to overtake Carson-Newman for the 10th spot.

Barry (298-300=598) successfully defended its team title, leading the host Saints wire-to-wire and finishing six strokes in front of Flagler (303-301=604). Flagler's Marie Santacroce (74-71=145) carded a two-day 1-over-par to earn individual medalist honors by one shot over Barry's Maria Paola Fiorio (71-75=146), who led following Monday's opening round.

Feder (78-84=162) tied for 32nd, along with Jenna Birch of Armstrong (78-84=162), the defending individual medalist, and Tampa's Grace Marie Schian (78-84=162).

Senior Katie Eskew (79-84=163) finished one stroke further back and tied for 35th, while sophomore Braiden Furtick (89-85=174) improved by four shots from Monday's first round and finished in a three-way tie for 60th.

Sophomore Garyt Hamilton trimmed six shots from her opening-round 93 with Tuesday's 87 and finished tied for 65th. Junior Sarah Timms was one stroke further back in 67th after notching a two-day total 181. Sophomore Arista Setro (96-98=194) rounded out the Trojan contingent tied for 74th.

The Trojans kick off their spring schedule on Feb. 23 at the Ann Rhoads Invitational, hosted by Birmingham Southern.
