THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Anderson College is the 2003-04 recipient of the John D. Messick Sportsmanship Award, the conference announced Thursday at its annual spring meeting. The Messick Award is presented annually to the CVAC member institution judged to have exhibited the highest degree of sportsmanship among its players, coaches, and fans in the conduct of its athletics program. The vote for the award is conducted throughout the year by the league's head coaches. This year's Messick Award is the first for Anderson College.
