Barnes Receives Check From Palmetto Insurance

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Stephanie Barnes of Clemson received a $1,000 check from David Walker of Palmetto Insurance Associates during AC's athletic honors night on Apr. 27 for winning the Trojan Home Run Derby. Barnes was the lucky ticket holder at AC's final home game on Apr. 20 when AC second baseman Donavon Schmidt hit a home run. At every AC home game, fans receive a ticket. If the second batter in the AC fifth hits the ball over the fence for a home run, one lucky ticket holder receives $1,000 from Palmetto Insurance Associates. Barnes is the third winner in the six years that Palmetto Insurance Associates has sponsored the contest. "We appreciate all that Palmetto Insurance Associates does for the Anderson College athletic department," said AC athletic director Bobby Beville. "The home run contest adds a lot to our home baseball games, but Palmetto also supports us in many other ways. They sponsor a halftime shooting contest during our home basketball games, and they are active participants in the V.I.P. Golf Tournament."
