Trojans Drop Nonconference Home Contest To Clayton State; 3-0

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University women's soccer (7-5-2) dropped its nonconference home contest versus Clayton State(6-6-3), 3-0, on Wednesday evening at Spero Financial Field.

Clayton State scored a goal in the 11th minute of the opening half, tacking on two more second half goals to claim victory over the Trojans.

The Lakers narrowly outshot the Black and Gold 15(7) – 13(8) with AU taking six corners kicks to Clayton State's two. Despite the opportunities, Anderson could not capitalize and find the back of the net.

Clayton State's keeper Trinity Chaistain recorded eight saves while senior AU keeper Victoria McGovern collected four saves in 69:32 minutes of action. Freshman AU keeper Arriel Frey finished the match logging 20:28 and recording one save.

Anderson returns to conference action on Saturday when it welcomes South Atlantic Conference foe Wingate to Spero Financial Field. Kick-off is slated for 5 pm.
