ANDERSON, S.C. -- Pfeiffer scored two goals in the final 16 minutes to beat Anderson University 3-1 in a Conference Carolinas women's match Saturday afternoon at Smethers Field. Pfeiffer, 11-8 overall and 8-3 in the conference, scored the lone goal of the second half when a misplay by Anderson goalkeeper Kelli Whitfield set up a restart from point-blank range. Alyssa Wombwell drove the ball through the wall to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Anderson, 4-1-12 and 3-7-1, tied the match at 1 at the 62:41 mark when Larissa Fedorowich scored off a restart from 20 yards out. Kirsten Bartsch figured in the final two Pfeiffer goals. She scored what proved to be the game winner at 74:08 then assisted on the third goal by Megan Blevins at 79:47. Pfeiffer goalkeeper Jamie Alcala made seven saves to earn the victory.
