ANDERSON, S.C. -- Limestone scored three long-distance goals to beat Anderson University 3-1 in a women's Conference Carolinas match Wednesday afternoon at Smethers Field. Limestone, 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference, got two goals from Amanda Lear off free kicks and a third goal from Lura Carter. Lear started the scoring at 12:37 from 25 yards out. Carter scored at 58:02 with a high shot from 30 yards out that found the upper left corner of the AU net. Virginia Cates scored Anderson's lone goal at 63:28 off an an assist from Lisa Taylor. Lear closed the scoring at 78:35 with a 20-yard free kick from the left wing. Limestone had 14 shots to Anderson's 7. The loss drops Anderson to 1-3, 0-2.
