ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson University scored four goals in the first 30 minutes on its way to a 9-0 victory over Converse in a Conference Carolinas women's match Wednesday night at Smethers Field. Virginia Cates, Whitney Branch, and Chelsea White all scored two goals apiece for the Lady Trojans, who improved to 4-11-1 overall and 3-6-1 in the conference. Cates, a senior from Byron, Mich., now has nine goals this season. Larissa Fedorowich scored one goal and had two assists for Anderson. Anderson's other two goals were scored by Kristin Page and Alyssa Stephens. Kelli Whitfield and Calle McCallister shared the shutout for Anderson. Anderson outshot Converse, 14-1 in the first half on its way to building a 6-0 halftime lead. The loss drops Converse to 1-18, 0-10.
