Dowiak Adds Henderson As Assistant Coach

Anderson University head women's soccer coach Jason Dowiak has added AU alumnus Steve Henderson as assistant coach. Henderson, a four-year player for the AU men's program, joins the women's staff as the assistant and will help Dowiak with day-to-day operations, practices, recruiting and workouts. "Steve has great ideas about the game and expresses his coaching points with confidence and clarity," Dowiak said. "His defensive understanding has already helped to organize our backs and he is developing a strong relationship with all of the players. He has earned the team's respect and is the perfect compliment to my coaching style." Henderson has experience in both coaching and conditioning, as he has served as a coach and trainer in the Clemson Anderson Soccer Alliance soccer club as well as a staff coach at Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy. Henderson graduated from AU in 2008 with a degree in English Literature. Anderson University went 7-9-2 last season, and finished eighth in the Conference Carolinas earning a berth in the conference tournament for the first time since 2005. With a strong returning core, six newcomers and the addition of Henderson, the Anderson University Lady Trojan program is looking to take major strides in continuing to develop a tradition of winning.
