Barton Women Beat AU In OT

WILSON, N.C. -- Allie Wilkerson scored two goals, including the game winner in the first minute of overtime, to lead Barton to a 2-1 victory over Anderson University in a Conference Carolinas match Saturday night. "They didn't have a lot of quality chances, but they punished us with the ones they got," said Anderson head coach Jason Dowiak. "We dominated possession. They just sat back and didn't play high pressure. We had several chances. We just didn't get a lot of quality shots." Wilkerson took advantage of a defensive breakdown to score at the 67:19 mark and give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Anderson, 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference, tied the match at the 84:42 mark when Chelsea White scored on a header off a pass from Virginia Cates. A misclear set up Wilkerson for the winning goal at 90:58. Both teams took 10 shots. Ashley Gregory made five saves to earn the victory for Barton.
