Women’s Golf Readies for Patsy Rendleman Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. – After being idle for four weeks after winning the AU Invitational in early September, the Anderson University women's golf team is slated to compete at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, on Monday at Tuesday.

Catawba hosts the annual tournament, with last year's two-day, 36-hole event being hosted by the Indians on a par-72, 5,973 yard Country Club of Salisbury layout.

Last year saw Kate Hill lead the Trojans to a fourth-place finish in an 18-team field, as AU posted a then school-record round of 291 on the tourney's second day. Hill fired a 69 in last year's final round and finished tied for sixth place. Anna Freeman finished in a tie for 11th place a year ago, with Victoria Hall sharing 14th place. Kerington Lamb rounded out the Trojan contingent in a tie for 52nd place last year.

With five players finishing in the top eight spots, the Trojans claimed their third straight AU Invitational last month by a comfortable 25-shot margin over runner-up Catawba.

Freeman fired a pair of 3-over-par 75s en route to capturing her first career victory, while Lamb finished in a tie for third place with freshman Emma Charles. Hall shared fifth place, with Hill finishing in eighth place and freshman Taylor Palmer claiming a tie for the 18th spot.
