McCurley Named Assistant Volleyball Coach

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University head volleyball coach Todd Hay on Monday announced that former Trojan standout Lindsay McCurley has been named as an assistant coach for the Trojans.

"It's always great when you can add an alum to your staff and we are excited to welcome Lindsay to our team," said Hay. "I know she will bring the same energy and enthusiasm to coaching side that she did as a player. She has already hit the ground running with camp planning, inventory and brainstorming preseason activities for the fall. I am very thankful Lindsay has chosen to remain with our program in this capacity and look forward to working with her going forward."

McCurley helped lead the Trojans to 76 victories, a South Atlantic Conference regular-season championship (2021), four consecutive South Atlantic Conference Tournament appearances - including a pair of appearances in the tourney finals - and three NCAA Tournament appearances during her outstanding career.

The Simpsonville native ranks 10th in the school record books with 127 career aces and stands 15th in school history with 1,158 career digs. She reached double-figure digs on 41 occasions during her collegiate career, which included a career-high 28 digs against Queens during the 2019 season.

Off the court, McCurley was just as active, serving as President of the AU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which was honored for raising the most money of any school in the conference for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

She was also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), the AU Education Club, Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) and also served on the CEC (Council of Exceptional Children Club). McCurley has been a substitute teacher with the Greenville County School System and a camp counselor and club volleyball coach along with volunteering with youth volleyball programs.

McCurley was a three-time CSC (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® honoree and a member of the Anderson University Dean's List, Chi Alpha Sigma and the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. She was named the 2022 South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned the 2022 SAC Volleyball Elite 23 Award.

"I am so excited to have the opportunity to still be a part of the Anderson volleyball program," said McCurley. "I had the best four years as a player on the team and I cannot wait to step into my new role. I am looking forward to working with my former teammates as well as the incoming freshmen. This team has so much potential and I cannot wait to see what we accomplish this fall!"

McCurley graduated in May from Anderson with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Add-on.
