Crumpton Adds Five To Women's Soccer Roster

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson University head women's soccer coach Abby Crumpton announced the signing of five players to national letters of intent Monday afternoon. "We are really excited about this group of signees," Crumpton said. "They all are going to help us tremendously and enable us to be a more competitive team in 2007." The five signees are: -- Calle McCallister, a goalkeeper from Walton High School in Marietta, Ga. "Calle will be a great addition for us," Crumpton said. "She has a lot of experience playing for one of the top clubs in the South -- the Concorde Fire. Her greatest assets are here technique and her intensity." -- Nina Reid, a central defender/center midfielder from West Henderson High School in Hendersonville, N.C. "Nina was a great find for us," Crumpton said. "She has good vision and speed and really enjoys making slashing runs through the midfield that will hurt a lot of teams." -- Kristi Wilkins, a forward/midfielder from James Island Charter High School in Charleston, S.C. "Kristi is a diamond in the rough," Crumpton said. "Defenses will not be able to take her lightly because she has a great shot and the talent to slice through defenses." -- Whitney Branch, a forward from Elsik High School in Houston, Texas. "Whitney is an extremely athletic and versatile player," Crumpton said. "She has a great mind for the game and can finish on a dime. She will give us a more physical presence and the ability to hold the ball up front." -- Lynne Flint, forward from Fairbanks, Alaska, who played at the Darlington Soccer Academy. "Lynne is going to wreak havoc on defenses," Crumpton said. "She is a very dangerous player with great speed and great athleticism. She is going to elevate the level of our team."
