Anderson Women Rip North Greenville

TIGERVILLE, S.C. -- Larrisa Fedorowich scored three goals to lead Anderson University to a 5-1 victory over North Greenville at the Pepsi Soccer Stadium Friday afternoon. Fedorowich, a sophomore from Mississauga, Ontario, has scored four goals in Anderson's last two matches and five goals this season. "We had a finishing practice yesterday and that's exactly what we needed," said Anderson head coach Abby Crumpton. "We set up a bunch of different looks at the goal in practice, and I think all of that work paid off today." Fedorowich opened the scoring for Anderson just 1:08 in the match when she took a pass from Clary McCord and beat North Greenville goalkeeper Jessica Binkley. The Lady Trojans increased their lead to 2-0 at 27:55 when Crystal Gaffney knocked a long ball in the box from Megan Delancey into the Crusader net. North Greenville broke up the shutout at 38:22 when Chelsea West gather a ball that rebounded off the crossbar and scored. Anderson, 2-2 overall, dominated the second half. Fedorowich scored her second goal at 49:04 off a pass from Allison Patton. Eight minutes later, Patton scored a goal from the backside off a pass from Kristy Fikes. Fedorowich completed the hat trick at 84:58 on a breakaway. "It was a good victory for us," Crumpton said. "We deserved one like this after the work we put in during the preseason. We're back to .500 and that's a good spot to be in. We're gaining confidence with each match we play. We need that." Anderson outshot North Greenville, 17-14. Anderson goalkeeper Kelli Whitfield made four saves to pick up the victory. The loss drops North Greenville to 1-3. 2006 Anderson Women's Soccer Statistics
