Miller Named Coach Of The Year

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Anderson University head men's soccer coach Rob Miller was named the 2008 Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year Thursday afternoon. In his seventh season at Anderson, Miller has led the Trojans to a record of 11-5-2. Eleven victories is a single-season record for Anderson in its 10-year history as a Division II program. The Trojans play host to Belmont Abbey in a Conference Carolinas semifinal tournament match Friday at 7 p.m. at Smethers Field. Anderson was 7-1-2 in Conference Carolinas play and recorded its high finish ever -- second -- in the conference standings. Anderson's best finish in the conference prior to this season was third in '05. From Sept. 13 to Oct. 18, the Trojans put together a nine-game unbeaten streak. The Coach of the Year Award is the fourth of Miller's career. When he was at Cumberland, he was named Coach of the Year three times. Miller is 146-121-14 overall and 57-65-9 at Anderson.
