GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Anteneh Lemma tied a career-high with two goals to lead the eighth-ranked Tusculum College men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Anderson University Wednesday night. Tusculum improves to 14-2-1 on the season, while Anderson falls to 9-5-2. The match remained scoreless until midway through the 44th minute when Lemma found the back of the net for the ninth time this season, taking possession of a through ball by Lucas Paulini in the area and tapping it into the bottom corner to put the Pioneers up 1-0 heading into the break. Tusculum widened the advantage to 2-0 in the closing seconds of the 61st minute on Lemma's 10th goal of the season and second of the match. After Corey McPherson found Sven Meyer on the left flank, Meyer touched it to Lemma who then delivered a slicing strike into the far corner from the top of the area, tying a career-high with his second goal of the contest. Anderson's Kevin Valkenburg cut the lead in half early in the 67th minute with his sixth goal of the season, striking the ball off the woodwork and into the back of the net off a pass by Dan Bowers to pull the Trojans within one goal of the Pioneers.
