Women’s Soccer Trio Honored by Conference

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Despite not earning a trip to the 2013 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament, Anderson University women's soccer had three players honored by the conference, as senior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Neipp and redshirt sophomore defender Faith Johannes were named to the All-SAC second team, while freshman Helena Moore earned All-SAC Honorable Mention, announced by the league office on Wednesday.

For the regular season, Neipp was a save away from 100 as she broke her career high with 99 saves on the season. Her .853 save percentage ranked second in the conference and her 1.07 goals against average slotted her fifth in the SAC. Neipp finished her career with 67 matches played with 46 starts, 385 saves, 22 victories and 21.4 shutouts, leading the program's history in all categories.

Nationally, Neipp ranked 25th in saves per game with 6.60 and 32nd in total saves.

A transfer from UNLV, Johannes missed just one match on the season, starting 16 contests in AU's backline. Despite being just in front of Neipp, Johannes tied for third on the team in goals with three on the season. Johannes six shots on goal tied her with freshmen Madison Taylor and Anna Masdottir for the highest shooting percentage on the team (.200). Johannes anchored a backline that totaled seven clean sheets on the year.

Moore, who saw started in all of AU's 17 matches as a freshman, earns her first SAC honor of her career. Moore ranked second on the team in goals with four, in shots with 45, shots on goal with 19 and 10 points. Moore also notched two assists, as her season was highlighted by a five-point match against Brevard on Oct. 22.

Anderson closed out the season with a 5-7-5 overall record and an even 3-3-5 mark in the conference. The five league ties are the most by a SAC team in the history of the conference.
