ANDERSON, S.C. - Stringing together its longest winning streak of the 2013 campaign of three straight, the Anderson University women's soccer team takes on South Atlantic Conference leader and No. 22 nationally-ranked Wingate on Saturday. Kickoff from the WU Soccer Complex is slated for 5 p.m.

The Trojans
During its three-match winning streak, AU has blanked in opponents, outscoring them 5-0, including a 3-0 shutout of SAC foe Brevard on Tuesday afternoon. With a 1-0 win over Lincoln Memorial sandwiched in the middle of the streak, the Trojans are in eighth place in the conference standings with a 3-2-4 SAC mark, which would earn them a berth in SAC Tournament. Three points separates AU from jumping to fourth place where Catawba (5-3-1) sits with 16 points.

Headlining the winning streak has been the attacking pair of senior Krystal Goss and freshman Helena Moore. The duo has scored all but one of the goals during the winning streak, as Moore scored twice in the 3-0 win at Brevard. Goss got the final goal of the afternoon to clinch the 3-0 victory against the Tornado, but earlier earned the game-winner in the 1-0 win over LMU last Wednesday. For the season, the tandem has combined for nine of Anderson's 20 goals and five of the team's 14 assists.

Senior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Neipp has shined throughout the winning streak, notching the shutout in each contest with 14 saves. The three clean sheets jumped her career shutouts mark to 21.4 and into a tie for seventh place all-time in SAC history. Neipp is one of four former players to notch 21 shutouts, but the only member of the four to share a clean sheet. The Anderson, S.C. native is now chasing Catawba's Scherrie Dalton, who posted 22 career shutouts and ranks sixth on the all-time list.

The Bulldogs
Wingate's five-match winning streak was snapped on Wednesday with a 3-2 loss to Queens, as the Bulldogs hold a 10-2-3 overall record with a 6-2-1 conference mark. With the 19 points, WU finds itself in a tie for the top spot in the conference standings alongside Lenoir-Rhyne. In the NCAA Regional rankings that were released on Wednesday, WU was slotted No. 5, four spots behind regional leader, L-R.

Last season's SAC Player of the Year winner, junior Jade Montgomery, returns to the WU lineup, as she currently leads the conference in goals, as the only player with double-digit goals for the season with 11. Montgomery leads the SAC in all offensive categories with seven assists, 29 points, 35 shots on goal and 75 shots. The Monroe, N.C. native holds a 26-shot advantage over second place Nicole McKinney of LMU. Montgomery is responsible for 32-percent of WU's goals for the year.

Defensively, junior Ashlyn Hardie has seen the most action in goal for the Bulldogs, holding a 6-2-1 record in eight starts. Classmate Lauren Schoonover has made five starts in goals holding an unblemished 4-0-2 record with 24 saves.

The Series
Anderson is still seeking its first SAC win over Wingate since joining the league in 2010. In last season's meeting, the Bulldogs scored four times in a 4-1 win over the Trojans as Wingate eventually went on a 10-match winning streak to close out the 2012 regular season. WU eventually advanced to the SAC Championship and the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, where it was eliminated by North Georgia, 4-1.
