Freshman goalkeeper Sadie Lancaster recorded her first career shutout in her first collegiate start, making nine saves on the afternoon, keeping the Tusculum attack off balance. With the scoreless draw, the Trojans remain unbeaten in the SAC with a 1-0-4 conference record and 2-4-4 overall.

The Pioneers won the shot category, 18-9, but kept AU backline kept TC from finding a rhythm throughout the afternoon as half of Tusculum's shots came on goal. Pioneer striker Alisha Pugh paced the offense with five shots, as four came on goal. For Anderson, senior Olivia Scalzitti tallied three shots when freshman Helena Moore posted two.

"Our girls came out with a lot of energy in the second half and they have a tremendous amount of passion and adjusted formations well," head coach Samar Azem said. "Sadie (Lancaster) stepped up in goal and a number of our girls did well. We defended like champions today and I'm proud of the direction our young women are taking for our program."

Lancaster's counterpart Marissa Williams finished the match with three saves, including one in overtime. Williams notched her sixth shutout of the season and 20th of her career which ties the school record at Tusculum.

Anderson returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 9 as it hosts Newberry. Kickoff from Trojan Stadium is at 2 p.m.
