Men's Track and Field Completes SAC Championships

HICKORY, N.C. – The Anderson University men's track and field team finished in ninth place this weekend at the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championship.

Philip Quillen led the way for the Trojans by finishing in second place in the 3,000 steeple by breaking an Anderson school record with a time of 9:23. Daniel Similton recorded a top-10 finish at 10:08.40. Quillen also took sixth place in the 5K with a time of 14:50.72. Thomas Sutcliffe ran well in the 1500m at 3:57.64, while Matthew Burgess ran the 800m in a time of 1:59.39, finishing in seventh place.

Patrick Berlejung finished eighth in the 10K at 32:24.78, meanwhile Brandon Wilson took 11th at 32:45.70. In the field, Conner Wheatley recorded a distance of 37.45m in the hammer throw.
