Men's Track and Field Completes Hub City Invitational and Flames Invitational

CLEVELAND, TN – The Anderson University men's track and field team completed meets at the Flames Invitational and Hub City Invitational (Newberry, S.C.) this weekend.

At the Hub City Invitational, Hayden Tuten led the way for the Trojans with a fourth-place finish in the 5000m (16:41.26) while Noah McLain finished sixth (17:08.68). In the field, Conner Wheatley came in fourth place with a distance of 40.70m in the discus throw and a ninth-place finish in the shot put (12.16m).

The men's 4x400m relay team of Hunter Norman, Ben Elson, Cameron Owens-Hunter, and Zach Cannon came in sixth place at 3:44.10. Norman continued the success with a mark of 1:00.46 in the 400 hurdles, which placed him sixth. Brandon Wilson recorded a top-10 finish in the 1500m (4:27.75) with Ben Clark placing 13th at 4:37.49. In the 100m, Zach Cannon's mark of 11.73 placed 14th.

At the Flames Invitational, Philip Quillen had marks of 9:35.52 and 14:39.64 in the 3000m steeple and 5000m, respectively. Daniel Similton placed 19th in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 9:39.28. Matthew Burgess (4:08.80) and Thomas Sutcliffe (4:10.62) each competed in the 1500m.

The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Apr. 24) for the South Atlantic Conference championships. The event will be hosted in Hickory, N.C. with live results available at www.autrojans.com.
