NEWBERRY, S.C. - Anderson and Newberry battled through two overtimes to a scoreless draw in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer Wednesday afternoon at the Newberry College Soccer Field.

Anderson moves to 5-4-3 overall and 3-1-2 in the conference after seeing two draws in the last four outings, while Newberry (4-5-3, 1-3-2 SAC) saw its winless streak extended to five contests.

The Trojans' defensive effort marked the eighth time this season that opponents have been unable to score - equaling last season's record-setting mark, while the stalemate was the fith clean sheet posted by the Wolves.

"Today was by far our worst performance of the season which is disappointing on so many levels," said Anderson head coach Samar Azem. "We did not play our style, we did not show courage in the box and we certainly lacked desire and focus. Our players have to adopt a consistently disciplined mentality coupled with leadership. Once we do, we will begin winning the games we should and the occasional games we are not expected to."

The Wolves outshot the Trojans, 11-9, on the afternoon and held a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal. Newberry also recorded four corner kicks, while AU notched three.

Junior Kaitlyn Neipp played all 110 minutes in goal for the Trojans, recording five saves, while Newberry's Rebecca Darley also went the distance and notched a pair of saves.

Anderson will look to return to the win column Saturday, as Wingate invades Trojan Stadium for a 1 p.m. kick-off.
