Women’s Soccer Earns Regional Ranking

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Anderson University women's soccer team is ranked 10th in the Southeast Region in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire polls, as released on Tuesday.

Anderson also earned a No. 10 regional ranking during the 2011 season en route to an appearance in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament semifinals and an overall record of 9-10-1.

The Trojans are also ranked among the nation's leaders statistically, as the team's stellar defensive efforts have AU ranked 19th in save percentage, 20th in shutout percentage and 40th in goals-against average among 300 teams ranked.

Individually, junior Krystal Goss is 12th nationally with her four assists and ranks 25th in the country in assists per game (0.67 apg).

Senior forward Jessica Kleinberg is 15th in the nation with a pair of game-winning goals, while junior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Neipp ranks 24th in save percentage (0.902), 28th in total saves with 37 and is 48th nationally with a goals-against-average of 0.687.

The next NSCAA national rankings will be available Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Anderson gets back in action Wednesday afternoon, as the Trojans play host to SAC opponent Brevard on the opening contest of a women's/men's doubleheader. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Trojan Stadium.
