WINGATE, N.C. - Anderson suffered a 3-1 road setback in the Trojans final regular-season outing on the road at Wingate in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at the WU Soccer Complex.

Anderson closed the season at 6-11-1 overall and 2-7 in league action, with the loss eliminating the Trojans' chances of qualifying for next week's conference tournament.

Wingate (10-2-3, 6-1-1 SAC) extended its win streak to three and the Bulldogs have won eight of their last nine contests.

The Bulldogs scored two first half goals and held on for the victory, taking a 3-0 lead just 34 seconds into the second half. AU senior Kristi Caldwell notched her first goal of the season in the 64th minute to trim the deficit to 3-1, but the Trojans were unable to get any closer.

Juniors Izabella Miranda and Kelly Adams and senior forward Kerstin Williams scored for the hosts.

The final conference tournament seedings will be determined at the conclusion of league play on Saturday night.

Eight teams will qualify for the league tournament, with the first round being played at the home of the higher seed and the winners advancing to Manchester Meadows in Rock Hill, S.C. for the semifinals and championship. Women's quarterfinal action will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 2nd.
