Kaitlin Bailey and James Named Jimmy John’s Female and Male Athletes of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University men's basketball sophomore Crosby James II and women's basketball freshman Kaitlin Bailey have been named the Jimmy John's Male and Female Athletes of the Week.

James averaged 16 points and 4.5 rebounds in two contests last week, as the Trojans dropped a tough one-point decision to Tusculum, then bounced back for a 67-63 win over Coker. The Columbia, S.C., native was 12-of-24 from the field and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe on the week. He netted a season-high 25 points in last Saturday's win over the Cobras.

On the season, James paces the Black and Gold with 12.7 points per game and is third on the team with his 3.0 rebounds per game.

Bailey, from Elizabethton, Tenn. scored a career-high 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the Trojans', 86-70, win at South Atlantic Conference opponent Mars Hill. The six-foot guard followed with a 16-point afternoon, ripping down a career high 12 rebounds in AU's victory over Coker on Saturday. For the week, Bailey averaged 16.5 points, 10 rebounds and 4.5 assists.

The women's squad is 9-5 overall on the season and will host Carson-Newman tonight. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Abney Athletic Center.
