Michel and Livingston Named Jimmy John’s Female and Male Athletes of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University men's basketball senior Josh Livingston and women's basketball senior Samantha Michel have been named the Jimmy John's Male and Female Athletes of the Week for games played Jan. 4-10.

Livingston averaged seven points per game in two contests last week, while leading the Trojans with six rebounds per game. The Myrtle Beach native averaged nearly 23 minutes, while going 6-for-13 (46.2 percent) from the field.

On the season, Livingston is third on the team with his 10.5 points per game average and is second on the squad in rebounding (5.0 rpg). He stands sixth in the South Atlantic Conference with four blocked shots, 16th in field goal percentage (50.0%), 22nd in the league in rebounding, and 37th in scoring.

Michel, from Apex, N.C. averaged 16.5 minutes per game, eight points, seven rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game for the week. In the home contest against Tusculum, Michel scored a career-high 14 points and recorded a career-high five blocked shots.

The Trojan women are 6-4 on the season and will travel to Wingate on Saturday to begin a three game road swing.

Each week, one male and one female student-athlete are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
