Anderson Announces Fan Policy for Home Basketball Games

ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University Department of Athletics has announced that attendance will be limited at home basketball games during the 2020-21 season.

The policies have been developed while adhering to state and local guidelines and in conjunction with the South Atlantic Conference and the NCAA, as well as Anderson University's COVID-19 Task Force.

There will be no general admission tickets available. Tickets will be offered weekly and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, with reservations needing to be made at least 24 hours prior to the game. Upon arrival, fans will be given a lanyard and assigned a specific seat in their appropriate seating area. Signage and other markings will be placed at entrances and other areas within the Abney Athletic Center.

• A set number tickets have been set aside for family and guests of Trojan student-athletes and coaches, along with a similar amount for the visiting student-athletes and coaches. Student-athletes and their guests will reserve their seats by contacting their respective coaches.
• Supporters of the Trojan Athletic Fund have been allotted a set number of tickets as well. Please contact the Anderson Athletic Department at bfarmer@andersonuniversity.edu to reserve tickets.
• AU faculty and staff have also been allotted a set number of tickets and should contact the Anderson Athletic Department at erichards@andersonuniversity.edu to reserve tickets.
• AU students will have limited seating and must RSVP via AUnited at https://aunited.andersonuniversity.edu/.

Fans are required to wear an appropriate face covering and maintain physical distancing while in the Abney Athletic Center. Teams are undergoing regular COVID-19 testing twice a week to ensure the health and safety of the student-athletes, coaches, and administrators and temperature and symptom checks will be performed on all game-day personnel.

Fans should call (864) 231-2029 if they have questions regarding these policies, but please note, all ticket reservations must be requested in writing per the email addresses given above. A reserved ticket gains access to the entire evening's contest of men and women's basketball in the Abney Athletic Center.

These policies are subject to change and all fans are strongly encouraged to check with the host institution before making plans to attend any SAC basketball game in person.

The Trojans are scheduled to open the season on the road, Saturday at Catawba, with the home opener slated for Tuesday, Nov. 24 against Newberry.
