Bishoff Set for 2nd NCAA Championship

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- With another stellar campaign behind her, Anderson sophomore Whitney Bishoff is set to compete in the 2009 Division II Cross Country Championships hosted by the University of Southern Indiana at the USI Cross Country Course on Saturday. This marks the second consecutive appearance by the Winder, Ga., native on the national scene and a top-40 finish would secure All-American status for Bishoff. Head coach Randy Greer believes the goal is within her reach after notching a 68th-place finish a year ago. "Whitney's ready to go," Greer said. "She's right where she should be and we expect her to move up and improve over last year." Bishoff has taken advantage of the opportunity to get on the 6K USI course over the past two days after being idle since posting a second-place finish with a school-record time at Wingate two weeks ago. "This will be the most difficult course we've run all year," Greer added. "I don't expect weather to be a factor, but the course has some hills." The women's championship begins at 1 p.m. Eastern time, with the men's event starting at 2 p.m.
