SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Anderson cross country teams started the 2009 campaign on a strong note, with the womens squad posting a second-place finish, while the AU men garnered third at USC Upstates Eye Opener Saturday morning at the Milliken Research Park. "I was very pleased with our effort and results today," said Anderson head coach Randy Greer. "I thought both teams ran very well, especially considering it was our first meet of the year. I'm very excited about where these teams can go. We have a lot of room for improvement, but they have great potential." Sophomore Whitney Bishoff paced the Trojan women's squad, placing sixth with a time of 19:38, while junior Lynne Flint crossed the finish line in the 11th spot (20:24).
