THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Anderson University had three runners named to the All-Time CVAC cross country team Saturday. Beginning in 2007-08, the Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference will change its name to Conference Carolinas. To help commemorate the CVAC era, all-time teams are being selected this year in each of the conference's 14 championship sports. Student-athletes must have at least two years of competition in the CVAC and must have been selected either first- or second-team All-CVAC. The three Anderson runners selected to the team are: -- Jennifer Hitt (2004 to present): Three-time individual champion, two-time NCAA nationals participant -- Ashley Smoak (2001-04): First-team All-CVAC two times, honorable mention two times, first Anderson runner to qualify for NCAA nationals -- Jessica Merrill (1999-02): First-team All-CVAC one time, second-team All-CVAC one time, led Anderson to first CVAC championship in '02
