THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Diana Williard and Nathan Parsons of Anderson University both were named CVAC Runners of the Week for the first week of the 2006 cross country season. Willard started her second season at Anderson with a second-place finish at Lander. Anderson placed four runners in the top 19 for a 2nd place team finish, just 5 points behind Augusta State. The Sophomore from Pelion, SC paced through the 5K Lander Invitational course in a time of 20:12 to finish 2nd in a field of 66 runners. The top-10 finish was the seventh of Willard's career. Parsons led Anderson to a dominating performance in the Lander Invitational. With Parson's leadership the Trojans placed four runners in the top eight and six in the top 15 to win the meet. The sophomore from Clifton Springs, NY ran the 8k Lander Invitational course in a time of 27:28 finishing 2nd in a field of 53 runners while leading the Trojans to a first place team finish. The top-10 finish was the fourth of Parson's career.
