Men's Cross Country Team Finishes Second

WINGATE, N.C. -- The Anderson University men's cross country team placed five runners in the top 22 on its way to a second-place finish in the 13-team Wingate Invitational Saturday morning at the 10K Wingate cross country course. Anderson was led by Nathan Parsons, who finished fifth with a time of 34:24. Parsons has recorded top-three finishes in all three of Anderson's meets this season. Following Parsons for Anderson was Jason Bryan (35:32, 11th), Jeremy Hunsaker (36:08, 17th), Alex Jordan (36:19, 20th), Ethan Schaffner (36:21, 21st), and Matt Atkinson (36:25, 22nd). St. Andrews Presbyterian won the meet with a team score of 37 points. Mitch Cooper (33:50) and Pedro Tapia (33:53) finished 1-2 for the Knights. Anderson was second with 68 points, and Lincoln Memorial was third with 84 points. The Anderson women had just four runners finish and did not record a team score. Kasey Harold (25:09, 12th) was the top finisher for Anderson in the 6K women's race. Wingate will be the site of the NCAA Southeast Regional meet on Nov. 4. 2006 Anderson Cross Country Results
