ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson men's soccer team has been rewarded for its' late- season surge with a No. 8 ranking in the Southeast Region in the latest NSCAA/HendrickCars.com Regional Rankings released on Tuesday.
Anderson (9-4-1, 4-2 South Atlantic Conference) has won five in a row, its longest stretch since opening last season with six consecutive victories. AU's explosive offense has averaged more than five goals per match during the streak, while the Trojan defense has also been stellar by posting shutouts in three of the last four contests. Anderson has surrendered just an average of 0.6 goals per game since late September.
The Trojans join fellow SAC members Mars Hill, Wingate and Carson-Newman in the top ten.
AU wraps up its two-match conference road swing with a visit to Newberry on Wednesday. Kick-off versus the Wolves at the Newberry Soccer Field is scheduled for 4 p.m.
