Trojans Fall to Fifth-Ranked Lynn University

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought, 1-0, decision to visiting Lynn University Monday afternoon night at Trojan Stadium.

Senior defender Joe Cundall scored the contest's lone goal on a penalty kick in the 48th minute of action following a foul whistled on the Trojans in the left side of the box. The Dewsbury, England, native lined up the shot and placed the shot just inside the left post for the game-winner.

Anderson fell to 2-2-1 with the setback, while the Knights moved to 4-1.

The contest was physical from the outset, with nine cards issued and two Knights receiving red cards, one in the 25th minute and one at the 68:27 mark.

The Knights held a narrow 9-8 edge in shots and a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore Lukas Hesse absorbed the loss between the pipes for AU while collecting five saves. LU's Alessandro Salvatore earned the win after recording four saves on the afternoon.

Anderson plays host to Young Harris on Thursday at Trojan Stadium, with kick-off slated for 4:30 p.m.
