ANDERSON, S.C. - Paced by two goals apiece from Lasse Sohrweide and Clement Samson, Anderson outpaced USC Aiken, 6-1, in non-conference men's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at Trojan Stadium.

Anderson (4-3-1) has won two of its last three and avenged a setback to the Pacers last season, while USC Aiken (0-5-1) is still searching for its first win of the 2010 campaign

The Trojans notched their first corner kick just 45 seconds into the match and junior defender James Moseley put Anderson on the scoreboard in the eighth minute by heading in a corner kick off the foot of Adrien Moufflet.

Samson recorded his first game-winning score of the season nine minutes later with his right-footed attempt, giving AU the two-goal cushion. The Trojans lost the shutout in the 27th minute when Pacer junior midfielder Kennis Paul broke free behind the Trojans' defense and AU's Stefan Veljovic was whistled for a foul just in front of the goal and given a red card. USC Aiken's Troy Watson trimmed the AU lead to one when his penalty kick settled in the left side of the net.

Samson answered at the 35:23 mark with a header off a cross from sophomore Ben Jones for his second goal of the contest and fourth of the season, boosting AU back to a two-goal edge and the two teams headed to intermission with Anderson holding a 3-1 lead.

Despite playing a man down, Anderson netted three unanswered goals in the second frame, with Sohrweide netting his third and fourth scores of the season to tie Samson for team-high honors on the year. The 6-foot forward corralled a loose ball in front of the USC Aiken goal and found the back of the net at 53:28, then notched his second straight score when by taking junior Ryan Messick's cross into the box and putting it between the pipes.

Anderson junior Daniel Bowers closed out the scoring in the 75th minute when his attempt from the right side was deflected into the back of the Pacers' net for his first score of the season.

The Trojans held a 23-6 advantage in shots and posted 13 shots on goal to the Pacers' three attempts on goal. Anderson also held a 10-4 edge in corner kicks.

AU sophomore keeper Lukas Hesse, supported by the Trojan's stellar defense, recorded one save on the afternoon en route to picking up his fourth win of the season, while USCA's Charles Andray recorded seven saves and suffered the loss.

The contest was halted with just less than five minutes remaining on the clock due to threatening weather in the area.

Anderson will get back on the pitch Saturday with a brief one-match road trip as the Trojans visit SAC-opponent Carson-Newman. Kick-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Jefferson City, Tenn.
