ANDERSON, S.C. - Six different Trojans got in the scoring column Tuesday afternoon as Anderson closed out its four-match homestand by rolling past Brevard, 8-0, in South Atlantic Conference play at Trojan Stadium.

Anderson (8-4-1, 3-2 SAC) won its fourth straight and fifth in its last six outings, while improving to 7-1 in the friendly confines of Trojan Stadium. Brevard fell to 1-12- overall and 1-6 in league action, while suffering its fourth consecutive setback. The Tornados are still searching for their first road win of the 2010 campaign.

The stellar Trojan defense posted its fifth shutout of the season and second in its last three outings while the offensive explosion marked the most goals scored by AU since the Trojans blanked Emmanuel College, 11-0, during the 2006 season.

Sophomore Clement Samson put AU on the scoreboard in the ninth minute when he took a feed from Ben Jones and ripped a shot from close range that found the back of the net. Less than five minutes later it was the same combination, but reversed as Samson found Jones breaking open on the left side and the 5-foot-7 midfielder scored his second goal of the season.

Anderson broke the contest open with a flurry of goals early in the second half, with junior James Moseley posting a score off Adrien' Moufflet's corner kick in the 47th minute, followed by Samson's second score of the afternoon at the 54:57 mark.

Moufflet found Moseley with another corner kick in the 59th minute and the 5-foot-11 defender recorded his fourth score of the season before Moufflet registered his third assist of the contest when he delivered to junior Lasse Sohrweide, who put his shot in the net.

Junior midfielder Scott Clapperton notched his first goal of the season in the 72nd minute and freshman Weston Read collected his first career goal at the 76:49 mark.

The AU defense held Brevard to just three shots, a new season-low for the Trojans and the 23 shots equaled the second-highest output by the Trojans this season. Benjamin Pepion and Adrian Osborne combined for the win, while BC keeper Paul Jussila absorbed the loss. Clement Samson recorded a match-high six shots, with teammates Lasse Sohrweide and Ben Jones each firing four attempts.

Anderson begins a two-match conference road swin on Saturday with a visit to Tucsulum College. Kick-off at the Niswonger Sports Complex/Pioneer Field is slated for 5 p.m.
