Men's Golf Travel to Orangeburg for SAC Championships

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson's men's golf team enter postseason play this week (April 21-23) at the South Atlantic Conference Championships hosted at the Orangeburg Country Club. The tournament will feature one 18-hole round each day of play.

"We are very excited to head to Orangeburg Country Club this week for the Conference Championship! It's a great venue and great test of golf," said head men's golf coach Austin Castles.

The Trojans will be represented by fifth-year Jamie Markwick (Bishop's Waltham, Eng.) senior Daniel Coker (Hartsville, S.C.), junior Simon Wright (Lancaster, S.C.), freshman Luke Sullivan (Columbia, S.C.) and freshman Sam McMillan (Mount Pleasant, S.C.).

"We have a good bit of experienced guys in the lineup this week in Daniel, Jamie and Simon. We are definitely going to lean on those guys, but we also feel great about our young guys, Sam and Luke. It's really just a talented group."

The same lineup wrapped up the regular season recording Anderson's best finish of the season, taking 6th place at the Tennessee River Rumble in late March. Shooting a team score of 293-289-298, the Black and Gold carded four rounds of –1 or better to finish +16 overall.

"We are looking to feed off what we did in our last season event of the regular season event of the year in Tennessee. The guys have seemed very focused this week and determined to go give it everything they have."

Lincoln Memorial is the tournament favorite, leading the SAC in the national rankings, currently sitting at No. 2 in the country. Behind them, No. 21 Coker is the only other SAC squad ranked in the Top-25.

"No matter what happens, we look to grow and compete to the best of our ability. Go Trojans!"
